Catanzaro Named to Parkridge Medical Center Board of Governors

May 1, 2008   Chattanooga – Dr. Jim Catanzaro has been named to the Board of Governors of Parkridge Medical Center. Dr. Catanzaro serves as the president of Chattanooga State Community College and brings a wealth of leadership experience to his new role on the Parkridge board. The primary function of the Board of Governors is to assure that the Hospital and the medical staff provides quality medical care that meets the needs of the community.

Darrell Moore, president and chief executive officer for Parkridge Medical Center, Inc., made the announcement following a unanimous vote of the existing board members. “The Board of Governors is pleased to have Dr. Catanzaro join our team and we are excited to capitalize on his enthusiasm and leadership skills,” said Mr. Moore.

Other members of the Parkridge Medical Center Board of Governors include Warren McEwen, Curtis Adams, Dr. John Adams, Dr. Vijaya Appareddy, Dr. Eugene Ryan, Allison Cardwell, Dr. Siobhan Duff, Darrell Moore, Dr. Yune-Gill Jeong, Dr. Susan McGuire, Dr. Theodore Richards, Dr. Andrew Rittenberry, Larry Kloess, and Jim Vaughn.

Dr. Catanzaro holds a Ph.D. degree from Claremont Graduate University in Philosophy of Religion and studied leadership at The Wharton School and at the University of Texas at Austin. With over 30 years of experience in education and 18 in Tennessee, he is known nationally as a leader in the community college movement for his remarkable growth and path breaking innovations in marketing and program development. Dr. Catanzaro resides in Signal Mountain with his wife. They are active in community affairs, local service organizations and the arts.
